Local Students and Community Dancers Cast In OWC's Dance Facets 2008, Concert To Be Held April 25 & 26

1/28/2008 - Okaloosa-Walton College's Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts Division will present their annual dance concert, Dance Facets 2008 on April 25 and 26 at 7:30 p.m. at the Mattie Kelly Fine & Performing Arts Center on OWC's Niceville campus. Tickets are $15 for adults and $10 for youth age 18 and younger and are available now at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Box Office in-person, by phone at 729-6000, or through the center's online ticket system at www.owc.edu/arts.
From classical pointe work to an extreme makeover, this year's Dance Facets program will hold more variety than ever before. The concert will consist of 10 choreographic works featuring four student works. This year's program also features guest artist Audrey Balavoine who is originally from Vendee, France and is the artistic director and owner of the dance company Grain de Sable in Soullans. She has an extensive resume with several original works to her credit. The OWC dance faculty are excited to have the opportunity for Balavoine to set her choreographic work, From Mouth to Ear for the Dance Facets event.
In preparation for this large event, the dance program recently held auditions for the prestigious concert. Fifty student and community dancer were chosen to participate in the concert.
