Junior Orchestra Accepting New Members

9/10/2009 - The Junior Orchestra, a string ensemble of Northwest Florida State College, is preparing to start its second season. The program is open to young string students (violin, viola, cello and string bass) in grades 4th to 8th who have at least two years of musical experience. The Junior Orchestra is a stepping stone to the more advanced Northwest Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra and is the only program of its kind in the area.

The group, under the direction of Liz Aylor, meets on Saturday mornings, from 10:00am to 12:00pm in room 304 of the Music Wing of the Mattie Kelly Fine and Performing Arts Center at the NWFSC Niceville campus. The program is offered through the college and a registration fee for the semester is $125 which is payable at the first rehearsal on September 19 or at the first rehearsal attended.
