2008-09 OWC Raider Rhythms Dance Ensemble

6/10/2008 - The Raider Rhythms dance ensemble of Okaloosa-Walton College announces the dancers selected through audition for the 2008-09 performance year. The Raider Rhythms is now in its 17th season at the college and is under the direction of Joseph Taylor, OWC Assistant Professor of Dance. Selected were:

Crestview: Brittany Baker

Fort Walton Beach: Melissa Gaccione, Annie Gornall, Allyson Johnson (co-captain), Jordan Magee, Katie Robison

Navarre: Candace Isaacs

Niceville: Katie Li Jones (co-captain), Brooke Stewart

All Raider Rhythms dancers receive an OWC scholarship. The group performs primarily jazz and hip-hop at the college's basketball games, assists with the college's Summer Dance Workshop and participates in OWC dance enhanced productions such as Dance Facets and the OWC Soundsations Show Choir. The students selected also have the opportunity to study with guest artists and to evaluate their work and the work of others.
