17th Annual International Food and Wine Tasting Festival

Mattie Kelly Arts Center

2/7/2008 - For the seventeenth consecutive year, the Northwest Florida Symphony Guild (NFSG) will host its International Food and Wine Tasting Festival. This year's event is Sunday, February 17 from 1:00 to 4:00 pm at the Emerald Coast Conference Center on Okaloosa Island. Enjoy food samples from some of the area's finest restaurants and catering services as well as many great wines from throughout the world and a silent auction.

More than twenty restaurants and caterers will be on hand to offer samples of their cuisine and Guild members will pour ample tastings of about seventy different wines from around the world. Throughout the afternoon, musical entertainment will be provided by members of the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra and guest artists. In addition, a large selection of silent auction items will be on display and available for bid, including paintings by local artists, golf and tennis packages, gourmet dinners prepared in your home, gift baskets, dining certificates and much more. Auction items will be sold before the close of the festival.

Tickets for the Northwest Florida Symphony Guild's International Food and Wine Tasting Festival are available in advance for $35 each or in blocks of ten or more advance tickets for $30 each. Space permitting, tickets at the door are $40 each, cash only. Tickets are available at: Bayou Books in Niceville, Chan's Wine World in Destin, Kitchenique in Sandestin, and in Fort Walton Beach at Coach & Four Gifts, the Magnolia Grill, and Vandegriff Jewelers. The event is the Guild's major annual fund raiser and is one of the premier charitable events in northwest Florida. Proceeds from the festival support the music education endeavors of the Guild such as support of the Northwest Florida Symphony Youth Orchestra, sponsorship of the annual Orchestra Day for all 5th grade students in Okaloosa and Walton Counties to attend a special performance of the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra, support for NFSO strings musicians to visit area fourth grade classrooms, Guild sponsorship of the regional Concerto Competition for young musicians, support of the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra concerts, plus support for scholarships and other ongoing events to develop and promote interest in fine arts in our area.
