7/28/2011 - The Northwest Florida State College Schola Cantorum (School of Singing), will be conducting auditions for additional singers on the last two Mondays in August. The auditions will be held in room J 312 of the Music Building on the Campus in Niceville between 6:00 and 7:30 on August 22 and August 29. Singers interested in auditioning should be able to read music and have previous experience singing in choral groups. The NWFSC Schola Cantorum is comprised of a diverse group of singers from over the two county area who perform music from across the ages. Much of the music is unaccompanied by instruments.

The group is directed by John Leatherwood and is comprised of full-time students, Air Force personnel, full-time workers and retirees. The group will be preparing a concert of Christmas pieces to be performed in local venues in early December. For further information or to arrange a different audition time contact the director at 850-830-2062.
