Creative Dramatics - Camp Glee at NWF State

5/9/2013 - The Fine and Performing Arts Division at Northwest Florida State College will offer a Creative Dramatics summer workshop titled "Camp Glee!" from June 10 to July 3 for students from rising 8th grade through college age. Participants will learn about choreography, acting, voice, makeup and staging and will star in the drama Thoroughly Modern Millie, Jr. on July 3 at the college’s Mattie Kelly Fine and Performing Arts Center.

The "Camp Glee" workshop meets from 8:30 am to 1:45 pm, Monday through Friday, at the college's Niceville campus and is taught by Allison Everitt, NWFSC voice professor, Uli Dunbar, NWFSC dance professor, as well as Christa Whittaker, drama instructor at Fort Walton Beach High School and NWFSC. No prior experience in theater is required to participate in this program.

Dual Enrollment credit for the Creative Dramatics class is available to qualified high school students; some fees may be covered under the Dual Enrollment program for those who qualify. All dual or concurrent students must enroll through the Dual/Concurrent Office in the Student Services Center (SSC) on the Niceville campus. Students who have never been enrolled at NWFSC should complete NWFSC admissions either on-line or in-person at any NWFSC location and enroll in NWFSC course numbers DAA 1580-85411 (Musical Theater Dance I) and THE2820-85417 (Creative Dramatics I).
