2/12/2014 - Dance Facets Cast Announced & Tickets Now on Sale for Annual Dance Concert & Fundraiser

The Northwest Florida State College Division of Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts announces the cast for the annual dance concert, Dance Facets 2014. The 34 local student dancers were selected by audition and will present two performances on April 25 and 26 at 7:30 pm in the mainstage theater of the college’s Mattie Kelly Arts Center in Niceville. Tickets are on sale now with all dance concert proceeds benefitting the college’s Frances Smith Herron Dance Studio Endowment.

The popular annual event features original choreography with a wide variety of dance forms from modern to classical, ballet, and more, as well as special lighting and stage design by NWF State College students.

Tickets are on sale now for $20 adult and $15 for youth ages 18 and younger from the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Box Office either in person, by phone at (850) 729-6000 or by web at www.MattieKellyArtsCenter.org. Current NWFSC students may receive one free ticket per student ID in person from the Box Office. Box Office phone and in-person hours are Monday to Friday from 10 am to 4:00 p.m.

Students who selected to perform in Dance Facets 2014 include:

Crestview – Jessica O’Sullivan and Kalyn Sawyer;

Destin – Marisha Brown, Heather Connelly, Chloe Hagle, Katie Moore, and Lyndsi Stevens;

DeFuniak Springs – Haylee Green and Chelsea Martin;

Freeport – Michelle Hebert;

Fort Walton Beach – Caroline Brehm, Taegan Dennis, Marcus Hector, Rebecca Jollie, Max Murdock, Stephanie Oldnettle, Sean Royal, and Shelley Theiss;

Mary Esther – Javonte Coleman;

Navarre – Jonathan Carter and Ashley Carter-Fair;

Niceville – Jonathan Delgado, Vini Febus, Kyrsten Johnson, Samuel Melecio-Zambrano, Zachary Phillips, Ashley Robinson, Sivu Schlegel, Amie Urban, Wesley Urbanczyk, and Carla Von Kaenel;

Shalimar – Brooke Austin, Nathaniel Beechum, and Zachary Odom.

All DANCE FACETS 2014 proceeds go to support the Frances Smith Herron Dance Endowment at NWFSC, a fund named in memory of the late Frances Herron, a college dance instructor who passed away in August 2006. The endowment funds dance scholarships, distinguished visiting artists and enhances Dance Facets productions.

The Mattie Kelly Arts Center is located on the Niceville campus of NWF State College at 100 College Boulevard and is easily accessible via Interstate 10, State Highways 285 and 85, and the Mid- Bay Bridge or new Mid-Bay Connector toll road.
