Apply Now - 2015 Fine & Performing Arts Scholarships

Mattie Kelly Arts Center

1/13/2015 - Apply Now for Fine & Performing Arts Scholarships

The application period is now open for various scholarships in Dance, Drama, Instrument, Technical Theatre, Visual Arts, and Voice offered through Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts Division of Northwest Florida State College. Scholarships begin Fall 2015 semester.

Application deadlines vary by discipline and require either an audition, portfolio or interview in addition to a completed scholarship application. Each discipline also has separate audition or interview dates. Students do not need to be a major in the arts to receive a fine arts scholarship. High school seniors who plan to attend NWF State in the Fall term should apply during this once-a-year application period. The scholarships, auditions and participation in NWF State College performance groups is also open to talented high school age students who are Dual Enrolled or home schooled.

Application deadlines are February 13 (dance),

February 27 (voice, instrument, drama and technical theater)

and March 9 and 10 (visual arts).

Performance scholarship students participate in ensembles such as Soundsations Show Choir, Jazz Ensemble, Raider Rhythms Dance Team, Madrigals, Belle Voci Women’s Ensemble, Chorale or in college theatrical productions. Technical Theater scholarship recipients concentrate on areas such as set design, costuming, lighting, and sound. Visual Arts scholarship recipients assist in the college’s visual arts department, the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries, art shows, and more. All scholarship recipients have the opportunity to work at least two Broadway shows per year to gain experience in the state-of-the-art professional theatre setting of the college’s $25 million Mattie Kelly Fine & Performing Arts Center.

Application packets may be picked up at the Fine Arts Office, located in the Mattie Kelly Arts Center, building J, on the Niceville campus or may be downloaded from the Division website at Contact the Humanities, Fine and Performing Arts Division office at (850) 729-5382 for questions or additional information.

NWF State College Fine and Performance Arts Scholarships are made possible through the college’s Foundation and its Mattie M. Kelly Cultural and Environmental Institute Endowment and gifts from private donors who support the arts.
