The college's summer musical theater workshop will present the mini-musical comedy "Hairspray, Jr." in the Sprint Theater of the Mattie Kelly Arts Center on June 28 & 29, 2017 in the college's Sprint Theater. Tickets are $5 each and available starting June 14 for the public. Performances are Wednesday June 28 at 1:00 pm and Thursday, June 29 at 10:30 am and 1:00 pm. Summer music theater workshop matinee events normally sell out and advance purchase is highly recommended.

The program is the culmination of concentrated training in voice, acting, and dance offered through a MUSICAL THEATRE WORKSHOP for youth ages 8th grade thru college that is offered each summer at the college's Mattie Kelly Arts Center. The workshop is taught by NWF professors Allison Everitt (voice), Christa Whittaker (theatre) and Ulli Dunbar (dance). Enrollment is limited to 35 students and Dual Enrollment credit is available. Registration is open for the Summer 2017 Musical Theater Workshop starting March 27, 2017. Students should enroll in THE 2820 #30281 (3 credits) and DAA1580 #30262 (1 credit). Workshop classes are Monday to Thursday from 8:30 am to 2:30 pm from June 5 to June 29. For information call the NWF State College Fine & Performing Arts Division office at 729-5382.
