The September 16, 2017 season opener entitled "Russian Nights" will feature Rimsky Korsakov’s masterpiece Scheherazade and will pair with the Wideman Gold medal winning pianist Tzu-Yin Yuang performing Rachmaninov’s beloved Piano Concerto No. 2. on our magnificent rebuilt Steinway piano.

The genius of Mozart will be on full display in October with an unusual program called "Mozart Deconstructed" on October 14, 2017 in which parts of the orchestra will be on display before combining for a performance of his “Prague” Symphony No. 38. The orchestra and Symphony Chorale will help ring in the season with our annual "Holiday Pops" concert on December 8, 2017 which will include the always popular carol sing-a-longs.

In February 2018 the NFSO welcomes back the magnificent Cirque de la Symphonie. Their last sold-out appearance in 2015 thrilled the audience with breathtaking acrobatics accompanied by the NFSO. This will an event not to be missed!

March 2018 will be the NFSO's most ambitious undertaking ever. The orchestra will perform a semi-staged and costumed performance of Verdi’s most popular opera "La Traviata" . The international cast will feature German soprano Vera Schoenenberg, Armenian tenor Yeghishe Manucharyan, American Baritone Ricardo Rivera and Cuban Mezzo Soprano Olga Pérez Flora along with the Northwest Florida Symphony Chorale and the Northwest Florida Symphony Orchestra.

The NFSO's 31st season will conclude in May 2018 with the third annual Education Week where the NFSO will perform for Okaloosa and Walton County fourth and fifth graders and will culminate with the popular "Stars of Tomorrow" concert which will feature the winners of our annual Concerto Competition for talented young musicians from across north Florida.
