The 26th Emerald Coast National Juried Fine Arts Exhibition

Northwest Florida State College and the Mattie Kelly Arts Center are pleased to present the 26th Emerald Coast National Juried Fine Arts Exhibition in the McIlroy Gallery.

This juried exhibition perennially attracts top artistic talent from across the United States and showcases works in a variety of media. This year presented a particularly competitive field, with over 300 works submitted for adjudication. Only 61 paintings, drawings, sculptures, photographs, and digital works were chosen for exhibition. An Opening Reception and Awards Ceremony will be held in the Galleries on Saturday, May 19, 6 – 8 p.m. Over $3000 in prizes will be awarded to the top works of art in the exhibition.

This year’s juror and judge of prizes was Dennis Harper, MFA, Curator of Collections and Exhibitions at the Jule Collins Smith Museum of Fine Art at Auburn University. Formerly Curator of Exhibitions at the Georgia Museum of Art, Harper served as Georgia’s curatorial advisor for the National Museum of Women in the Arts From the States exhibition in 2003, and was a founding board member and past vice president of ATHICA: Athens Institute for Contemporary Art.Additionally, Harper is a visual artist specializing in egg tempera painting. His works have been exhibited across the United States and Europe, and have been published in American Artist, Art Papers, New American Paintings, and the New York Times, among other publications. Harper’s art can be found in private collections throughout the United States and in Japan.

The exhibition will open with a reception in the Mattie Kelly Arts Center Galleries on Saturday, May 19, 6-8 p.m. An Awards Ceremony will begin at 6:30.
