Join our community as we welcome Maestro Devin Patrick Hughes for the Symphony’s opening night concert as the dramatic and electrifying come to life with Tchaikovsky’s Fourth Symphony. Enjoy a celebration of fate featuring Sergei Rachmaninoff’s Rhapsody on a Theme of Paganini with brilliant pianist and Wideman International Piano Competition winner Yinuo Wang. We tip our hat to the great American rockstar musician Leonard Bernstein on his 100th birthday as the NFSO presents his vivacious and witty Overture to Voltaire’s Candide.

Join us for at 6:30 p.m. for a pre-concert talk with Maestro Devin Patrick Hughes in the Mainstage Theater. Limited seating available. Attendees must have concert ticket.

About the Guest Artist

Wang Yinuo, started playing the piano at the age of four. In 2007, she was admitted as a piano student to the Music Elementary School attached to the Central Conservatory of Music (CCOM) in Beijing, and in 2010 she entered the Music Middle School attached to CCOM. In fall 2016, she was awarded a full scholarship to begin her study for the Performer’s Diploma with Professor Alessio Bax at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, Texas, USA.

Traveling around China and abroad, she played many piano recitals. She once played piano concertos with the Academic Symphony Orchestra of the National Philharmonic Society of Ukraine and the Romanian Mihail Jora Philharmonic Orchestra. She played solo piano recitals in many Chinese cities like Beijing, Qingdao, Hangzhou, Wuhan, Shenzhen, Kunming, Ningbo and Dalian, and one in Jakarta, Indonesia, and also at her school of the University in Dallas.

In 2017, Yinuo tied for Gold Medal at the Shreveport, La. based Wideman International Piano Competition.
