An event every day that begins at 7:30 pm, repeating until October 19, 2019

Northwest Florida State College is pleased to announce the opening of its first fall student production of Sword Against the Sea, October 16-19.

Sword Against the Sea is a stylized spectacle with fantastic costumes and masks, chorus and dance. The play is an adaptation by Arthur Feinsod of the Irish poet William Butler Yeats’ six one-act plays and some of his most stirring poems about the Celtic hero Cuchulain. This two-act play presents the hero’s failed attempt as a young man to achieve eternal life; his tragic slaying of his own son and the realization that drives him in despair to fight the sea.

The play will be held at the Mattie Kelly Arts Center’s Sprint Theater at 100 College Blvd. E. in Niceville at 7:30 p.m. Tickets are $10. For more information call the Mattie Kelly Arts Center box office at 850-729-6000 or view the event updates on Facebook.
